We need some love for the ladies! Recently, Stage Door Dish named five actors who are “hotter than the heat wave” but the ladies of theatre are just as sizzling as their male counterparts.

Below are our current top 5 leading Broadway actresses who are mega-talented and beautiful inside and out.

Stephanie J. Block

Stephanie J. Block

Why she’s hot: Who doesn’t love this lady? With her hilarious quips, adorable dog and fierce belting power, the sound of Stephanie’s name will have her starry-eyed “Blockheads” going gaga! She received her first-ever Tony Award nomination this year for her turn as the title role in The Mystery of Edwin Drood. She has also made some stellar appearances (to say the least!) in 9 to 5, Anything Goes, Wicked, The Pirate Queen, and The Boy From Oz. Stephanie can tap dance, play the glockenspiel, and wrap one hell of a Christmas gift. What’s not to love?

Where to find her: This fall at Second Stage Theatre, she will be starring in Little Miss Sunshine opposite her Drood co-star Will Chase! Be sure to catch this dynamic duo starting Oct. 15.

Patina Miller

Patina Miller

Why she’s hot: Isn’t it obvious? Patina is another gorgeous woman who has been singing soaring highs and rich lows, dancing in the style of Fosse, performing acrobatic stunts, and hula-hooping for over 100 performances of Pippin on Broadway! Her amazing portrayal of Leading Player is one that should not be missed; she even won the Tony for it! Patina has also appeared in productions of Sister Act and Hair, captivating audiences while proceeding to blow them away with her undeniable stage presence and authentic flair.

Where to find her: Giving a performance of a lifetime in Pippin at the Music Box Theatre eight times a week.

Megan Hilty

Megan Hilty

Megan Hilty

Why she’s hot: A moment of silence for Smash…and now a round of applause for this fabulous lady’s triumphant return to NBC! Megan’s scene-stealing performances in 9 to 5 and Wicked will be praised forever, as well as her brilliant work in the gone-too-soon musical drama series Smash. Along with being a devoted performer (and simply stunning) Megan’s lighter-than-air laugh and humble personality make her one of the most genuine ladies out there. And let’s face it: Megan Hilty probably has more talent in her fingernail than I do as a person, period. And with that I will stop here.

Where to find her: Sean Saves the World…and Megan too! Catch her and Sean Hayes in this hilarious new comedy, Thursdays at 9 PM this fall, back on NBC! And although she just wrapped a staged reading of the musical Can-Can, hopefully she won’t stray too far from the Great White Way.

Lindsay Mendez

Lindsay Mendez

Lindsay Mendez

Why she’s hot: I dare you to listen to “Pretty Funny” and not cry. Or crank up “Bless the Lord” without dancing. With a voice like Lindsay’s, it’s impossible to not be swept up into a whirlwind of emotions! Best known for her star-quality performances in Dogfight, Grease, Everyday Rapture, and Godspell, Lindsay is also a fun-loving gal, and a sweetheart to boot! And she’s been giving Broadway a gravity-defying ride this summer…

Where to find her: Lindsay recently took on the role of Elphaba just in time for Wicked‘s 10th anniversary and has been heating up the Gershwin Theater stage every night with her Dogfight co-star Derek Klena!

laura benanti

Laura Benanti

Laura Benanti

Why she’s hot: Sometimes referred to as “Bitter Benanti” for her dose-of-reality Twitter antics, Laura’s bright and hysterical persona can always bring smiles to the faces of her fans. Laura is most well-known for her Tony Award-winning performance in Gypsy opposite Patti LuPone, and has also performed in Into the Woods and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown on Broadway. Her take on the empathetic grief counselor Lauren on NBC’s Go On was beautiful to see every week and why this show was cancelled is something we will never understand.

Where to find her: You can find Laura on the USA series Royal Pains in an exciting recurring role! She also played at 54 Below recently, selling out her performances and captivating her audiences as usual. Can’t wait to see you back on Broadway, Laura!
